SDB Cleaning and Trash Removal was founded by Sean Damone Benson, a returning citizen who turned his experience and determination into a thriving business. The journey began at a street fair hosted by Dream of Detroit, where a representative from ProsperUs Detroit asked a life-changing question: *“Have you ever thought about starting your own business?”* At the time, Sean was recovering from his second major surgery and uncertain about how to return to work. That question sparked a vision.

Determined to take control of his future, Sean joined ProsperUs Detroit’s entrepreneurship program in September 2023. By October, he had legally established SDB Cleaning and opened a business bank account. By January 2024, he secured the necessary licenses and insurance, officially launching operations.

In under a year, SDB Cleaning won a contract with Eastside Community Network (ECN) to clean over 30,000 square feet across three buildings. Additionally, we provided deep-cleaning services for Brother II Brother Assisted Living Facilities, ensuring a clean and comfortable environment for their residents. We sincerely thank Brother II Brother for their continued trust and business.

Since launching, SDB Cleaning has grown from a solo operation into a trusted commercial cleaning service. In this first year, we have expanded to a **two-person team, employing part-time workers** to meet growing demand. As the company continues to develop, we are focused on more than just cleaning—SDB Cleaning is working toward building **a mentorship and workforce development program** to provide job training and employment for individuals re-entering the workforce and young adults seeking career stability.

While we do not have formal partnerships at this time, we are in the early stages of building relationships with organizations that align with our mission of empowerment and workforce development. Our goal is to use SDB Cleaning as a platform for both economic growth and community impact.
